Tirth
The Sanskrit word Tirth means a vessel containing water. Usually the word refers to certain geographical locations, necessarily near a water body as river, lake, etc. Each place is associated with a certain form of the Ultimate to aid the pilgrims' concentration on the Divine. These are spiritually charged places, brimming with palpable positive energy created as a result of the intense tapas or penance done by yogis, sages and serious spiritual seekers at these places over times immemorial. This energy is further compounded as the multitudes of people who visit these places have their energies oriented towards that one object. When a person visits such places, she/he imbibes the energy present there which has the capacity to substantially uplift the person's spiritual state.
