Mahavigyan By Shri Shri 108 Mahatma Baikal Das
The playing of holi with dust in the morning (colours are used later) bears testimony that Prahlad was shielded from sufferings, hence the demons could not kill him and the blame was saved. In Dwapar Yug Lord Krishna also sermonized Arjun to expect of nothing but God.
Tat swarg apwarg sukh dhariya tula ek ang Tul na tahi sakal mili jo sukh lav satsang
Dear, bliss of heaven and emancipation kept on a side of the balance is not equal to the bliss of good spiritual company
Prahlad was not attached to his physical body; he lived in subtle super conscious plane. With Prahlad in her lap, when Holika entered into the fire to kill him, he felt as he did in his mother’s lap. He took it as motherly affection and did not feel any negative (therefore, he remained unharmed), and this story has been well known, not only in the recent era, but also in Satyug, Treta and Dwapar. These days, humans become demons under intoxication. They celebrate festival only by drinking. This is wrong. You are of Divine properties, but opt for demonic properties. Holi should be celebrated with colors, abir, roses, kesar, roli with friends and relatives to develop sattvik tendencies – suppose it is Satyug.
So long as man does not rise to subtle super consciousness, he cannot get wisdom. The physical is entangled only with Maya then how may wisdom be achieved? Man can reach the subtle easily but super consciousness is achieved at final stage. What is the last stage of a man? First is childhood, second is youth, the third is old age and at the last is right before death. When one enters coma, the apparent characteristics are as of the super conscious state. Consciously, it is achieved when Pranayam is mastered. When one faces some great trouble as death of son or spouse, and overcomes the grief by patience, it is the subtle state. The physical is dominated by ‘I’ and ‘mine’. For example, one claims- “I killed him.” He is not killed; even then one becomes liable. Spirit, senses, mind - these are always immortal. These neither die nor get old. As is written in Ramayana, Sanak, Sanandan, Sanatkumar and Sanatan are ever young.
Brahmanand sada layleena Dekhat balak bahukaleena Always in eternal bliss the younglings (, Sanak, Sanandan, Sanatkumar and Sanatan) have seen many ages
Prahlad was a prince but he never cared for worldly pleasures. He did not forget his forefathers (he was a descendent of Rishi Kashyap). Prahlad is incarnation of Sanatkumar. He always lived in childhood stage. But he faced the result of his action. He had cursed a saint. As a result of this wrongful curse, he had to take birth as son of Hirnyakashyapu (the demon king). He was not focused on kingship, but on the curse, hence he recited the name of RAM to neutralize his wrong action of previous life – that was his dejection.
Sang se jati kumantr se raja Man te gyan pan se laja
Sanyasi cannot recover if he falls from his duties. Kings are made through manipulation and are destroyed by the same. Just as Tulsidas wrote about King Pratapbhanu – Demon Kalketu disguised as a saint manipulated Pratapbhanu in forest, you must be knowing. Thus, Prahlad had the right to rule but he refused to, as he knew that it would result in suffering. It is not appropriate for a human being to curse against his Dharma. Even then, Prahlad could not pay the three debts.
Pitra (ancestors), Rishi (sages) and Dev (gods) Rin (debt) are to be paid in this human body. How are these paid?
Pitra debt is paid when son is born.
Nandimukh saradh kari jatkarm sab keenh Hatak dhenu basan mani nrip vipran kanh dinh.
Nandimukh Shraddh (rituals for ancestors), Jatkarm (ritual for the new born) were completed Gold, cow, clothes, jewels were given by the king to the learned ones
The Vedas stress the necessity of Jatkarm upon the birth of a child. It is not done under the influence of the present age of Kali. Due to the non-observance of samskars, the wisely learned have become scarce.
How is rishi debt paid? I am telling in brief, wise will understand.
Bal brahmchari ati kohi Viswa vidit kshatriya kul drohi
(I am) Bal brahmchari (celibate since childhood), very quick tempered World knows me as destroyer of Kshatriya clan (Sage Parashuram said to Laxman)
When child is born, he is Brahm. After birth it cannot see its real inner form (angushth praman), so it weeps.
Kaha kaha kahi rove balak Kanha gaye mere Pratipalak ‘kaha’ ‘kaha’ the child cries Asking where is my nurturer gone
Then tormented infant thinks ‘who will protect me now’. At that time mother cow protects. We must serve the cow as her milk provides nourishment for the first three days when mother’s milk is prohibited. Therefore, cow is considered as mother and that is why cow’s milk is much superior to angushth praman.
To teach us this, in Dwapar Shri Krishna grazed cows, showing the spirit of serving cow. It helps to pay the rishi debt. I will write thoughts about dev debt as my wit allows. You readers can understand.
